A new Mediterranean restaurant is coming to Moorpark, and while details are still under wraps, its website promises a fresh and flavorful dining experience. With a focus on high-quality ingredients, this spot will serve up marinated kabobs, house-made hummus, and authentic Mediterranean dishes made fresh to order.
Founded by Sean and Maria Pourteymour, the restaurant is committed to sourcing non-GMO ingredients, responsibly raised meats, and food free from unnecessary additives. Their mission? To bring nutritious, high-quality Mediterranean cuisine to the community while fostering a welcoming, family-style atmosphere.
Located in the Walgreens shopping center on Los Angeles, the new eatery is already generating buzz. While we wait for an official opening date, one thing is clear—Moorpark is about to get a fresh new take on Mediterranean dining. Stay tuned for updates!

A brush fire broke out near the Simi Valley Landfill along Madera Road on Wednesday, sending thick plumes of smoke into the air and prompting a swift response from Ventura County firefighters. The blaze, initially reported at one acre, had the potential to spread up to 10 acres due to the heavy brush in the area.
Fire crews quickly jumped into action, using hose lines and aerial water drops from Firehawk helicopters to suppress the flames. Fortunately, thanks to their efforts, the fire was fully contained and extinguished before it could grow further.
While this fire, along with the many others, didn’t directly impact Moorpark, it serves as an important reminder that fire season is now year-round in Southern California. Stay prepared, stay aware, and as always, a huge thank you to our firefighters for keeping our communities safe!

Conference Opener Dub!

The defending WSC North champions are off to a dominant start! Moorpark College women’s basketball took down SBCC 68-53 in their conference opener Wednesday night, proving once again why they’re ranked #4 in the state.
The Raiders set the tone early, leading 42-36 at halftime, but it was their lockdown defense in the second half that truly sealed the deal. Moorpark held the Vaqueros to just 31% shooting from the field and 20% from three-point range, shutting down an otherwise high-powered SBCC offense.
Mika Jarrett led the charge for the Raiders, dropping 21 points on an efficient 7-of-14 shooting. Alyssa Saldana put the game away with two clutch drives to the rim, fueling a 7-1 run to close it out.
With this win, Moorpark improves to 13-4 on the season and 1-0 in WSC North play. Next stop? Defending their title and making another deep playoff run! 💪🔥
