The fire is coming to a close… 🔥

With containment now at 91%, firefighters are gaining ground on the Mountain Fire, which has burned over 20,000 acres since it sparked on November 6. Improved weather conditions have given crews a chance to hold containment lines and reduce the fire’s reach, allowing many evacuees to return home.

Tragically, a total of 240 structures have been lost, and returning residents face the painful process of rebuilding. With the fire coming to a close, this will be the Moorpark Minute’s last newsletter covering the fire. For further updates regarding the remaining containment percentage, please visit:

MC Women’s Volleyball are tearing up the competition! 🏐

The #9-ranked Women’s Volleyball team claimed the WSC North title in an epic 5-game showdown against LA Mission, ending a five-year stretch without an outright win. The game scores were a thrilling 18-25, 26-24, 26-24, 23-25, and 15-11, with the Raiders clinching their 16th WSC title in school history.

This victory followed an intense week, with the Raiders playing Hancock just one night earlier. Originally set for November 6, the Hancock game was rescheduled due to emergency power shut-offs and the Mountain Fire, which also limited the team’s gym time. Despite these challenges, the Raiders defeated Hancock 3-1.

The Raiders end the regular season with a strong 21-4 record (11-1 in WSC North) and will host a WSC Crossover game this Saturday, November 16, at 6 p.m., before awaiting the 3C2A Southern California playoff seedings. Catch the action and cheer on the Raiders as they continue their championship journey!
