Mountain Fire Update 🔥
Source: VC Star
While the general panic of the fire has died down, the Mountain Fire is still very much alive. The devastating Mountain Fire, which ignited last Wednesday, has hit a peak of approximately 20,630 acres in Ventura County, destroying at least 192 structures across Moorpark and Camarillo. Fortunately, firefighters have made significant progress, reaching 42% containment at the time of writing.
With weather conditions improving, some evacuation orders have been lifted, and others downgraded to warnings. Our thoughts remain with those affected, and a big thank you goes out to the firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to protect our community. As always, the Moorpark Minute will continue to keep you updated!

Musketeers’ Playoff Heartbreaker 🏈
Moorpark Musketeer Cooper Cronquist - @vcspreps on X
In a nail-biting playoff matchup, Moorpark’s Musketeers came up just shy against the Foothill Knights, losing 30-28 in a close finish. It was the Musketeers’ first home loss this season, ending a seven-game winning streak. Despite strong performances, Moorpark couldn’t quite fend off Foothill’s offensive push, with Knights players Zach Schutt, Nathan Gouvion, Mike Galey, and Nico Mancini delivering the key scores.
Quarterback Jake Lind threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, sealing Foothill’s advancement. The loss wraps up Moorpark’s season at 8-3, while Foothill moves forward to face Lakewood on the road this Friday. Though the Musketeers' season may be over, they’ve made their fans proud with a thrilling season on the field.
Til next year!
