High Street is getting another upgrade!

City of Moorpark
Exciting changes are coming to High Street! Moorpark City Council has approved a $2.8 million streetscape makeover to enhance the historic downtown area. The project focuses on improving pedestrian safety, walkability, and connectivity, creating a vibrant, charming space for residents and visitors alike.
The upgrades will include new sidewalks, curbs, crosswalks, landscaping, and electrical improvements to support special events like Moorpark Country Days and Holiday on High Street. Historic pepper trees will be preserved, and ADA-compliant ramps and rapid flashing beacons will boost accessibility and safety.
The makeover covers 1,100 feet of frontage along High Street, from Moorpark Avenue to Magnolia Street, with construction expected to begin in March and wrap up by October. While this phase doesn’t address broader parking concerns or include the full length of High Street, it sets the stage for future enhancements.
Get ready for a revitalized downtown that’s perfect for strolling, gathering, and celebrating!

A year in the making!

The Moorpark Chamber of Commerce had a huge year in 2024, and they’re gearing up for even more momentum in 2025! From hosting over 24 networking events with 700+ attendees to raising $53,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Chamber has been a powerhouse for business and community growth. Highlights also include shop local campaigns that generated $55,000 in receipts and legislative advocacy that saw 19 supported state bills signed into law.
Looking ahead, exciting new programs like the Topic on Tap Networking Events and the first-ever Moorpark Corporate Games are coming to the calendar. Plus, the Chamber’s Momentum and Impact Dinner is set for February 25th at M on High.
If you’ve been on the fence about joining, this is your last chance to get 10% off membership. The deadline to join at this discounted rate is January 31st—don’t miss out on being part of Moorpark’s thriving business community!

Quick Raiders Recap

Moorpark College Raiders
Last week may have been quiet, but Moorpark Softball made some noise, kicking off their season with a strong 2-1 record. Way to start, ladies!
This week, Raider Baseball swings into action with their season opener on the road against East Los Angeles on Tuesday, followed by three home games against Fullerton, Saddleback, and Cypress. With their opponents already warmed up, the Raiders are looking to make an early statement.
Men’s and Women’s Basketball return to the court on Wednesday, with the men facing LA Pierce and the women taking on LA Mission. Both teams are in the middle of stellar seasons, and a little extra rest from last week’s postponements might just give them the edge.
Finally, Men’s Volleyball kicks off their season on the road against Santiago Canyon. Best of luck to all teams!
