“Time to bring me my money”
Moorpark is gearing up for a stronger, more dynamic future with its first-ever Economic Development Strategic Plan (2025-2029)—a blueprint for business growth, local job opportunities, and an even better quality of life.
The plan, shaped by resident and business feedback, aims to bring more dining, shopping, and entertainment options while expanding job opportunities so fewer residents have to commute out of town. It also highlights the city's strengths, including Ventura County’s highest median household income, a booming industrial sector, and a revitalized downtown.
With retail vacancy rates dropping from 13.9% in 2015 to just 3.5% in 2023, and lodging tax revenue expected to more than double since 2021, Moorpark’s growth is undeniable.
City officials see this as a roadmap to long-term success, ensuring Moorpark thrives while maintaining its small-town charm. Stay tuned as actionable steps roll out in the coming months!
Moorpark Meme of the Day
Huisenga Steps Down!
Moorpark High School
After eight incredible seasons at the helm, Ryan Huisenga is stepping down as Moorpark High School’s head football coach to watch his twin sons, Tyler and Quinn, play college ball. Huisenga, a Moorpark alum and former Musketeer quarterback, leaves behind a legacy of excellence, including a CIF championship appearance in 2017 and a league title in 2023.
As a former player of Huisenga’s, this one hits home. His leadership wasn’t just about wins and losses—it was about building character, fostering a family atmosphere, and leaving the program stronger than he found it. Under his guidance, Moorpark football thrived, and his dedication to his players—on and off the field—will be tough to replace.
Moorpark looks to name a new head coach by the end of the month, but one thing is certain: Huisenga’s impact on the program and the community won’t be forgotten.
Free Coffee & Wifi (California Bun).
With many in Moorpark still without power, California Bun is stepping up to help the community! They’re offering FREE coffee and a place to recharge while outages continue. Whether you need a caffeine boost, a spot to get some work done, or just a warm place to sit, stop by California Bun and take advantage of their hospitality.
A big shoutout to them for keeping Moorpark fueled and connected during the outages. Stay safe, everyone!
